These are the manual steps performed after installing Raspbian on the pi sd card.

adduser coxcomb addgroup coxcomb sudo
wget --no-check-certificate "http://www.stripydog.com/download/kplex_1.1-1_armhf.deb" sudo dpkg -i kplex* put conf/kplex.conf into /etc/kplex.conf. fix the serialportnames.
sudo apt-get install wvdial telnet git
