New jib halyard

My jib halyard have been having a rough time lately.

Wear on the outer cover make it slip in the halyard clutch, and the only fix I could pull off was to tie a knot by the shackle to move the worn part further up the mast.

No more breadboards

Yesterday was spent soldering up two circuits, the pull-down circuit for the anemometer, and the final board for the seatalk1 gateway.

Onboard wifi

Previously this was done through a Asus WL500GP access point connected to the ethernet port on the pi. At some point the access point died.

The plan is to "simplify" the setup by using a small USB-dongle 802.11 interface, and run hostapd on the pi.

Anemometer

On-board anemometer is a Peet Bros. Anemometer.

It connects has light 4 wire telephone cable running up the mast.

Originally with an RJ11 (or RJ9?) 4pin connector, which had to be cut off to get the cable through the mast when mounting it.
